Rep. Yoon Jae-ok (Dalseo-eul, Daegu) was elected as the new floor leader of the people’s power to lead the general election in April next year. The new floor leader Yoon said that he would form a “one team” with outside forces such as Lee Jun-seok and former representative Lee Jun-seok, while preventing the runaway.
Rep. Yoon was elected as the new floor leader with a majority of 65 out of 109 votes at the general assembly held at the National Assembly on the 7th. On this day, the election was held in a bilateral confrontation with the fourth-term lawmaker Kim Hak-yong (Anseong, Gyeonggi-do). Rep. Kim got 44 votes.
In his greetings on the day, the new floor leader Yoon said, “I will prevent the runaway of the huge opposition party with the power of public sentiment and restore public trust,” he said. I will open it,” he said.
At the same time, he said, “I will tear up the list of lawmakers and the list of triangles and circles that I had until today,” and said, “I will always communicate and ask questions.”
Afterwards, the new floor leader Yoon held a press conference and showed his intention to embrace even former leader Lee Jun-seok, represented by the so-called non-yun-gye.
When asked how to overcome the pro- and non-yun conflict inside and outside the party, including former CEO Lee, he said, “I am thinking that we must go together as one team,” and “As Ho-young Joo retired, ‘unity is the most important’ I said the same thing. If there is something to be done to unite the party and win the general election, I will do it.”
When asked if the elections in the metropolitan area, which will be the winner of next year’s general elections, would be difficult with the leadership of Yeongnam, he said, “It is not easy to separate and prepare measures by region, and we are thinking about how to secure the public sentiment of the middle class.” I think I should think about it while thinking about it.”
The new floor leader Yoon, from Hapcheon, Gyeongsangnam-do, entered the first class of the National Police University as a senior and graduated as a senior. Having risen to a sense of security in his 40s, he has held various positions in the police, including the chief of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency, the chief of the Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency, and the head of the National Police Agency’s Information Bureau.
After entering politics, he became the first member of the National Assembly from the police academy by running for Daegu Dalseo-eul as a member of the Saenuri Party, the predecessor of the people’s power, in the 19th general election. Afterwards he got off in the same constituency and won a third term.
During the re-election period, he served as the chief deputy representative of the hospital and was in charge of the agreement between the ruling and opposition parties on the ‘Druking Special Prosecutor’. Although he is usually taciturn, he is known as a negotiator in the party with meticulous work handling and breakthrough ability.
In the National Assembly, he served as the chairman of the political affairs committee and the foreign affairs committee, and when President Seok-yeol Yoon was a presidential candidate, he served as deputy head of the People’s Power Election Countermeasures Headquarters and head of the Situation Office.
On the other hand, the Democratic Party of Korea congratulated the new floor leader Yoon on the election and pressed for cooperation in re-voting the Grain Management Act.
Lee Soo-jin, floor spokesperson of the Democratic Party, said at a briefing that day, “I hope that floor leader Yoon will restore the authority of the National Assembly and create an opportunity for governance between the ruling and opposition parties at a time when even politics has disappeared, let alone negotiations with the president’s unilateral rule.” We hope for detailed discussions for re-decision.”
The presidential office also expressed its position that the party-government cooperation will be solidified regarding the election of a new floor leader. An official from the presidential office said at a briefing at the presidential office in Yongsan that afternoon, “We are strengthening coordination and cooperation between the party and the government, and I think that trend will be solidified as the new floor leader joins in.” I want you to lead.”
