“Bohemia Interactive Announces Silica: A Unique Combination of Action and Strategy on a Distant Planet”

Czech studio Bohemia Interactive today presented a new game called Silica. This is a combination of first/third person action and real-time strategy, which takes you to the year 2351 on the distant planet Baltarus. It hides a unique element of Balterium under its surface, which could propel the entire civilization forward for generations.

But as the attached above shows exampleso the peaceful collection of raw materials will soon turn into a fierce battle with the insect inhabitants of this sand planet. Developers are attracted to three game modes and three different factions, which will compete against each other for supremacy over Baltarus. You will be able to play alone against artificial intelligence or in a group of up to twelve players in strategy mode. The arena mode designed for 32 players will offer even bigger battles.

Silica has been part of the work for some time of the Bohemia Incubator program, in which the studio helps independent creators with their own projects. In recent years, thanks to this program, a number of community expansions to Army 3 have been created.

According to Marek Španěl, the newly introduced expanded form of this game incubator will also focus on independent game projects and brands. The first such example is Silica, which is backed by a former employee of the studio Martin Melichárek.

Silica should be out soon in the early access program on Steamwhere you can already play the game add to wish list. We do not yet know the exact release date or price.
