Airfare prices ahead of the Eid holiday soaring. Regarding this, Secretary General of the Indonesian National Air Carriers Association (INACA) Bayu Sutanto opened his voice.
According to him, if anyone raises the price of airplane tickets above the Upper Limit Tariff (TBA), they can immediately be reported to the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).
“If someone raises it above the applicable TBA, just report it to the Ministry of Transportation,” he told detikcom, Thursday (6/4/2023).
Meanwhile, he explained that TBA still refers to the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number KM 106/2019 concerning Upper Limit Tariffs for Domestic Scheduled Commercial Air Transport Economy Class Passengers.
Bayu said there was a fuel surcharge or additional fee adjustment of a maximum of 10% from TBA.
“TBA tickets still refer to KM 106/2019. If you win, there will be a maximum fuel surcharge of 10% from TBA,” he said.
Meanwhile, in the Traveloka application, the highest increases in airfare prices occurred on April 19, 20, and 21, 2023 for a number of routes. The increase in airfare prices coincides with the Eid holiday period.
Ticket prices for Jakarta-Semarang flights, for example, have increased by about three times in one day. Viewed by detikcom, Thursday (6/4/2023), the lowest ticket price for the Jakarta-Semarang flight, Wednesday, April 19, reaches IDR 3.4 million.
Even though the day before, Tuesday 18 April 2023 to be precise, the lowest flight ticket price for the same route was in the range of IDR 945,000.
Airline ticket prices begin to fall and slope on Saturday 22 April 2023. On this route, the lowest ticket price is IDR 800,000.
The increase in airfare prices also occurred on other routes, such as Jakarta-Surabaya. The cheapest ticket price on this route for April 19 is IDR 1.2 million. On Monday April 17, the price for the cheapest Jakarta-Surabaya flight ticket is still in the range of IDR 987 thousand.
