The commander of tonight’s match has a recent controversial episode in his career. In the 2021 Libertadores, Rojas whistled Atlético-MG and Boca Juniors for the round of 16 of the competition and ended up canceling the Argentine team’s goal after being called by VAR, causing revolt in the athletes. Soon after, the referee was removed by Conmebol, claiming that the professional made “serious mistakes”.
For the duel, Andrés Rojas will count on the help of compatriots. The referee will be assisted by Dionizio Ruiz and Sabastian Vela at the flags. Already in the VAR cabin, the commander will be another Colombian, David Nicolás Rodriguez.
