Florent Pagny talks “The Voice” and his Return to the Stage in Recent Interview

The singer Florent Pagny was the guest of the morning of RTL this Wednesday, April 5, 2023 to promote his autobiography “Pagny by Florent” published by Fayard editions. During the interview with Amandine Bégot and Steven Bellery, the 61-year-old singer was asked about his popularity as a “popular singer” and spoke about his experience on the show “The Voice”. This statement may disappoint some fans.

Florent Pagny said that his participation in “The Voice” allowed him to reach a younger audience who came to attend his concerts. “You feel the evolution and the difference,” he added. Amandine Bégot then asked the singer if he planned to return to the show in the future. Florent Pagny hesitated before replying that he wasn’t sure, but that he had no problem doing so. He then joked that he was “everything and his opposite” and that he could say no today but change his mind tomorrow, specifying that it was a “super adventure”.

Florent Pagny expressed his gratitude to the team of “The Voice”. He said he spent 10 years with them and it changed his life. He also met some amazing people who had worked on the show for a long time. According to him, “The Voice” always has a special atmosphere and everyone who participates in it is moved. He added that there were around 250 people working on the show, including around 200 from the start. Florent Pagny seems to have a great affection for this experience which marked his life.

Florent Pagny: a great tour for the artist

Despite his diagnosis of lung cancer, Florent Pagny said he was fine and in good shape. He also confirmed his return to the stage scheduled for June 2023. “I have a fight, I have a challenge, you have to fight. I can’t wait to prove to myself that I can do it,” he said. He added that he had another chemotherapy session soon, but was determined to make a successful return to the stage. “May I assure, June I’m in and July I send and I prove to myself that it works,” he concluded optimistically.

Florent Pagny was born on November 6, 1961 in Chalon-sur-Saône, Burgundy. At the age of 15, he abandoned his studies in third class to concentrate on music. He enrolled in the singing conservatory and found odd jobs to support himself. In 1987, thanks to the producer of the program Sacrée Soirée, Gérard Louvin, he released his first single “N’importe quoi”, which became a huge success.

He recorded his first album “Merci” in 1990, which was certified gold. In the 2000s, he chained albums and collaborations with other artists. In 2012, he agreed to become a coach for the show The Voice. In January 2022, he announced that he had lung cancer and canceled his tour.
