About processors AMD Strix Point was already talked about in 2021. The information at the time suggested that there would be a Zen 5 architecture, a hybrid layout with big and small cores (big.LITTLE), later there was also information that there should be an integrated GPU with the RDNA3+ architecture. Now there is new unofficial news that has been published by YouTube channel RedGamingTech. In principle, they correspond to the first ones and further refine them. According to them, Strix Point should be available in several different variants. All of them should combine cores with the Zen 5 architecture, and in the form of energy-saving cores should be Zen 4D. The strange thing is that according to the leaks, the powerful models should be manufactured using the 3nm process at TSMC, while the weaker ones using the 4nm process.
The highlight of the offer should be an APU with 8 Zen 5 cores and 8 Zen 4D cores, it should also have a 32 MB L3 cache and an integrated GPU with the RDNA3+ architecture. In this case, it should have 8 WGP and a frequency of over 3 GHz, which would make this integrated graphics a GPU that could beat many a low-end graphics card. Even the current graphics in Ryzen Phoenix are close to the performance of the desktop GTX 1650 at clock rates of around 2.7-2.8 GHz. The latter has 12 CU, while the Strix Point is supposed to have 8 WGP, which would mean 16 CU. With an improved architecture, a further 10% increase in clocks and a 33% increase in the number of CUs, the performance should go much further.
A weaker variant with a combination of 4+8 cores with 16 MB L3 cache and 4 WGP for the graphics chip is also mentioned, the lowest should be the 6-core variant with a combination of 2+4 cores, 8 MB L3 cache and 2 WGP. We cannot say with certainty whether AMD would make such a stew in this, with cache memory sizes changing significantly, including production processes. There is also talk of support for DDR5-6400 and LPDDR5X-8533 memories.
