The FC Dallas Girls Academy 07 ECNL team has secured a place in the U16 Dallas Cup Final following their 5-0 win over BVB 07 in the semifinal on Wednesday. The game was played at Toyota Soccer Center, and FC Dallas forward Samir Minor was the star of the match, scoring four of the five goals, including an 8-minute hat trick in the first half. FC Dallas will face ODP National Select in the Dallas Cup Final on Friday, April 7, at 10AM, at Toyota Stadium. Director of the FC Dallas Girls Academy, Matt Grubb, praised Samir for her hard work and the thoughtfulness she applies to her finishing. He said she is a “duel [sic] sport athlete” who also plays for Lonestar Basketball. The FC Dallas Girls Academy entered five teams into this year’s tournament, and although only the ’07 ECNL team reached the championship game, Grubb was proud of all the teams, saying “It’s been a really good week for us.” Some of the FC Dallas Girls Academy players also have high school soccer obligations and injuries to overcome, making their achievements even more impressive.

Their advancement to the U16 Dallas Cup Final is a testament to the hard work and dedication of these young athletes, as well as the coaching staff that has helped mold them into the talented players they are today. As the team prepares to take the field in the final match, the entire FC Dallas community rallies behind them, united in our support for these incredible young women. Win or lose, we are proud of what these girls have accomplished and are excited to see what the future holds for them both individually and as a team.
