Rammstein’s Till Lindemann stars in wild GGPoker promotional short film

The Rammstein singer appears in a short film touting GGPoker, an online poker platform headquartered in the Isle of Man.

In this four-minute clip, directed by Specter Berlin – who also worked on Rammstein’s iconic “Deutschland” and “Farewell” videos – Lindemann plays a series of evil characters engaged in a game of poker.

Lindemann also plays the dealer, but the ad is quick to stray into uncharted territory: there’s a sword fight, blood licked from a cut on Till’s cheek, a kind of burglary strewn with rose petals, and a brief passage where our hero struggles at sea as a violent storm rages.

There’s also a German voiceover which, according to our presumably inaccurate machine translation, doesn’t really help decipher what’s going on.

“I can laugh again”says Till. “It’s not hard. I don’t cut. Not even you. Luck waits for no one. No blood on any card. I stopped freezing in the light of day. I started walking in at night. I’m secretly looking at the stars. I think I love myself again. I’m controlling my rage. I think I’m doing fine. I go to the beach once in a while.”

And so on.
