Guanajuato, Gto., April 4, 2023.- The main square of San José Iturbide will be comprehensively remodeled, so that it once again becomes a comfortable and safe space for the coexistence of the families of that municipality.

This was reported by Tarcisio Rodríguez Martínez, head of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Connectivity and Mobility (SICOM), who pointed out that to carry out this work, resources in the amount of 12 million 299 thousand pesos were channeled through the State Government.

The state official indicated that, according to the contract signed with the company that won the tender, the works began on February 14, and to date they have advanced 5%, and the date for completion has been set. conclusion on November 10 of this year 2023, which is equivalent to an approximate period of 9 months, for its execution.

Rodríguez Martínez explained in detail the works that will be carried out, these being the replacement of the existing pavement, which will be replaced by a stamped hydraulic concrete floor, with porphyry borders.

He added that, in the same way, work will be done on new ramps for accessibility for people with disabilities, as well as on the replacement and improvement of the irrigation system for the gardens that is currently in service.

The head of SICOM mentioned that railings will be placed to restrict access to the gardens, so that they are preserved in adequate conditions; In addition, the fountain will be rehabilitated, which will be equipped with a system of jets and lighting.

He stressed that the electrical installations in the main square will also be rehabilitated, to then install lighting with LED technology, in addition to maintaining the benches and litter bins located in the square; He added that work will be carried out on a total area that exceeds 7,000 square meters. Finally, he stressed that the work will be supervised by an expert authorized by the INAH Guanajuato Center, who is hired by the construction company.
