Giovanca Ostiana stops after three years as permanent presenter of Op1. Tuesday evening was her last broadcast, the EO has announced. Margje Fikse follows Ostiana, who remains connected to the NPO 1 talk show as a permanent substitute.
Ostiana has been forming since the start of Op1 in January 2020 a permanent duo with Tijs van den Brink. She wants to focus on her new presentation job in the coming period Zing!, a talent show for choirs. Ostiana also wants to revive her music career.
“It has been a special and instructive time. And I am glad that I was able to contribute to the Op1broadcasts,” said Ostiana.
Colleague Van den Brink says she has “a lot of appreciation” for the presenter. “She can look back with pride on her contribution to Op1. She is empathetic and empathetic, I am a bit more matter-of-fact and rational. Personally, I also learned a lot from Giovanca on topics such as diversity and racism. Her input has made me more open and curious about it.”
Fix presented Op1 previously together with Kefah Allush in the absence of Van den Brink and Ostiana. Her first broadcast is next Tuesday.
