Nouadhibou hospital workers stop the strike

Al-Akhbar (Nouadhibou) – The workers of Nouadhibou Hospital announced the cessation of the strike, which they entered into nearly a month ago in the hospital, after a marathon meeting with the governor of Nouadhibou entered the demise of the day, which lasted for more than 3 continuous hours.

After the end of the meeting, Dr. Sayedna Ali Ould El-Wafi, one of the health workers, told Al-Akhbar news agency that the local authorities summoned them at the end of the day, expressed their desire to stop the strike, and explained to them the efforts made to solve the problems raised, including the payment of 9-month arrears in the public treasury, and pledged By resolving the sticking points, working to find the best health service, and improving working conditions in the hospital.

Ould El Wafi considered that by virtue of their being representatives of the workers, they decided to take the decision to stop the strike, starting this evening, as a gesture of goodwill, and to open a new page with the administration and the ministry in order to find a health service that serves the citizens.

The workers of Nouadhibou Hospital had entered into a strike since the beginning of last March, and they had stopped night shifts for two consecutive months, to demand the payment of overdue dues, the expansion of the hospital, and the provision of equipment according to the slogans of their protests.
