Jakarta –
Waketum PKB Jazilul Fawaid assessed the conversation grand coalition at the meeting of the 5 general chairmen of political parties was quite surprising. This is because in the meeting agenda there was no discussion related to the grand coalition.
“Those who attended the meeting at the PAN Office were 5 ketum who are members of Mr. Jokowi’s coalition party, and happened to be present too. Mr. Jokowi there then appeared the discourse of a grand coalition, of course that was surprising. There was nothing difficult there that was being talked about by people of the same stream, but for me personally it was surprising,” Jazilul said in a detikcom X Total Politics discussion entitled “The Great Coalition vs PDIP, Anies Swinging?”, Tuesday (4/4/2023).
Even so, there are things that must be appreciated regarding the meeting. Jazilul said the 5 political parties agreed that elections would still be held in 2024 with an open system.
“Although we have to appreciate it because the ketum who attended had concerns that the election would still be held in 2024, it is important. And the system I got from the meeting, the parties who were present also agreed that the system was open,” he said,
Returning to the discourse of the Grand Coalition, according to Jazilul, this can also be considered positive. Although he does not yet know the direction and formulation of the coalition.
“For me, this grand coalition is only positive, although I have not been able to read the direction let alone the formulation,” he said.
Jazilul said that his coalition with Gerindra at the moment is quite complicated. The complexity in question is in determining the presidential and cawapres candidates.
“I often give an example of the two of us and Gerindra, it’s complicated for us to determine the presidential cawapres candidates, let alone five,” he said.
Even so, he still appreciated the agreement of the five parties to realize a peaceful election.
“Why should it be appreciated, there is a formula that the Indonesian people want, what is it? The formula is a peaceful election, an election that can be held in 2024, because I am worried, is there really an election,” he said.
