Broadcast about the 2012 album “Attiecibu Putra” of the group Alis P.

During this period, Edgars Abolins on drums and Edgars Rubenis on bass had joined the band founded by Swedish-born Latvian blues guitarist, songwriter and vocalist Gundars Ruļļa. For Āboliņš, who previously played punk/ska/hc and was actively involved in organizing events, this was a new role as a blues-rock drummer, while Rubenis has been in the blues since the beginning of his musical career with the group “Driving South”, and later in the first years of the group Mona De Bo in a duet with Edgars The songs written by Eichmanis from the 2008 debut record already reviewed in the program were mixed so well with the songs of Alis P’s first record “Alis iet pastaigast” when DJing, that this meeting of Rubeņš and Ruļļ in music also seemed inevitable, if not completely inevitable, then at least natural.

If previously Alis P did not have a stable line-up and the owner of the usually unique voice and blues guitar master Gundars Rulli, other musicians joined him only for recordings or concerts, then together with the two Edgars, Alis P from Gundar’s solo project finally became a full-fledged trio, where musicians playing and enjoying it is more important than specific songs. At that time, Edgars Rubenis had already devoted himself to the study of the sound world, or science, not only through playing the guitar, but on a much wider scale, going deeper and deeper into experiments with noises in his prolonged studies in the Netherlands, becoming a regular participant of the “Skaņu Mežs” festival, and joining for a few years Alis P in the composition, it can be considered as sticking to the roots, in order not to let go of the blues completely, and currently returning to it again with acoustic instrumental compositions, the second part of the trilogy of which has just been released on cassette.

This year, Rubenis, who lives in Latvia again, is happy to return to visit Alis P, now with a second solo guitar, which is again a new adventure for both himself and the listeners.

The entire Alis P 2012 trio – Rullis, Rubenis and Āboliņš – will be on the radio – in the studio.
