Creating a business page is a simple task.
Facebook is infamous for the many ways people use — and abuse — the platform, from your uncle sharing conspiracy theories to your roommate selling your couch on Marketplace. However, there is one tool offered by Facebook that is almost unilaterally helpful to users, and that is the ability for business owners to create a business page.
A business page on Facebook is a great way to consolidate all the information customers need about your business, from location to hours of operation and everything in between, without having to spend the time, effort and money and effort to a website. Sounds good, right? But it can be difficult to figure out exactly how to create a business page on Facebook, so here’s your step-by-step guide.
Login to Facebook
To create a business page on Facebook, you must first have a personal page and you must be logged in. If you haven’t created a Facebook page for yourself yet, it’s pretty easy to do. The first step to creating a business page on Facebook is to go to your Facebook homepage after logging in.
Create a page
There are two ways to create a new page from your Facebook homepage. The first option is to click on the menu next to your profile icon in the top right of your screen, then switch to “Page” under “Create”. The second option is to click on “Pages” in the left drop-down menu, which will take you to a page listing all of your pages. Here you can click on “Create a new page”.
Fill in your company information
It’s time to shine! On the left side of the next screen, fill in your page name, select a category, and write a description. This should be accurate information for your business to make your page easy to find. Your page name should be your business name, nothing else. As you update it on the left side of the screen, the right side will show you a preview of your page.
Finalize your page
Once you are satisfied, click on “Create a page” at the bottom left of the screen.
Add details
Now that your page is created, you can add all the details that make a page informative and inviting, like images and more details. Each time you add something, click “Save” at the bottom left.
You can keep changing things up and making your page perfect. Add a call to action if you feel so inclined, or create events, like when you have a big sale or go to a farmer’s market.
Let’s say you create a business page on Facebook and you’re not happy with it, so you decide you’d rather start from scratch. No problem. Removing it is quite simple. In the left menu bar, go down to “Settings”. Scroll down and select “Delete Page”. You’ll be asked if you’re sure you want to permanently delete your business page on Facebook. If you click yes, your page will disappear.
