“Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo Appoints Dito Ariotedjo as Minister of Youth and Sports”

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo or Jokoei appointed Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo or better known Here Ariotedjo Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) on Monday, April 3, 2023. Dito Ariotedjo was born on September 25, 1990, and is currently still quite young, namely 32 years. Previously, Dito also served as chairman of the DPP Indonesian Youth Renewal Force (AMPI) in 2017-2022.

Furthermore, in 2021, Dito will team up with Raffi Ahmad and the CEO of Prestige Motor to build Rans Sport. He served as Chairman Rans Nusantara FC and Chairman of Rans PIK Basketball in the Indonesia Basketball League (IBL). However, after being appointed as Menpora, Dito resigned as Chairman of the football and basketball club.

Dito Ariotedjo reportedly received three directives from Jokowi after being sworn in. Among them, Jokowi wants sports to be prioritized on the agenda such as the Sea Games and Asian Games because they have medal potential.

The second command is, Jokowi want leagues for massive school sports competitions to be carried out starting from the level of school education, college and even inter-village leagues. And finally, the third, Jokowi wants youth development in the field of entrepreneurship and professionalism.
