Bitcoin Binance Plummets on Rumors of CEO’s Arrest by US Law Enforcement

Jakarta

Price bitcoin Binance plummeted because of rumors the CEO of the company Changpeng Zhao will be arrested by international law enforcement United States (US). Rumors of the detention spread on social media Twitter which was conveyed by one of the accounts.

“Interpol notice for CZ,” wrote a tweet from the @cobie account, quoted from Coindesk, Tuesday (4/4/2023). This tweet was followed by a message whose actual content is not very clear. It is known that the information uses abstract letters and numbers.

But one of the accounts found a way to read the letter, and the information was disseminated. When translated, the contents contain the CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao, who is said to have evaded demands from United States (US) regulators and threatened to be arrested for a criminal case.

As a result the exchange tokens Binance and bitcoin plummeted. Spokesmen for Binance and Interpol US did not respond to requests for comment.

Even so, Binance’s Chief Strategy Officer Patrick Hillmann has opened his voice via his Twitter account. He believes the information is not true and just nonsense.

For information, recently Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has been busy being the center of world attention because he was accused of manipulating the market and committing a number of legal violations. The Commodity Futures and Trading Commission (CFTC) made this accusation.

However, CZ denied the accusation. The objection was conveyed by him through an upload on his blog, Tuesday (28/3). He said that his party had not violated any regulations. He also called the accusations incomplete facts.

“Personally, I have two accounts on Binance: one for Binance Card, one for my crypto holdings. I eat our own ‘dog food’ and store my crypto on Binance.com. I also need to convert crypto from time to time to pay my personal expenses or for Cards,” said CZ, as reported by Cointelegraph.
