Get Ready for the New Season of ‘Love for Music’ with Reimagined K3 Songs!

Yes! Tomorrow night is the day, then we can enjoy the first episode of the new season of ‘Love for Music’. It promises to be a great start, because we are treated to nostalgia and good vibes in reworked versions of our favorite K3 songs.

For decades, the K3 train has been racing through our country at a solid pace and the girls have scored one hit after another. Metejoor, Portland, Jaap Reesema, DAAN, Günther Neefs and Stef Bos immerse themselves in the repertoire of the trio and their predecessors for ‘Love for Music’. Curious which K3 songs we can expect tomorrow?

Little Pigs

Yes! None other than DAAN provides a unique version of the musical hit ‘The Three Little Pigs’. ‘When I heard that K3 was participating in “Love for Music”, I was immediately sold to participate. As a kid I had an obsession with piglets, so I chose that song. I just made it a little tougher. They have become pigs…‘ We can’t wait to discover his English version ‘Little Pigs’, drenched in a dark and magical atmosphere.

Jazz, a dance party and lots of tears

Jaap Reesema goes for a reworked version of ‘Oma’s aan De Top’, because his wife recently lost her grandmother. He chooses a new title, her last words ‘Ik Ben Bij Je’. After just a few notes, he touches a sensitive chord with Hanne, because she too recently lost three grandparents. Jente and Sarah van Portland also go in an emotional direction with their English version of ‘Mijn Held’. ‘We both have someone in the family with dementia. That’s why this beautiful song with a catchy message.’

Stef Bos turns it into a happy dance party with his version of ‘Verliefd’ and Günther Neefs puts some jazz in ‘Waterval’. That last song has a special meaning to Julia: ‘This is my victory song so I was hoping someone would take this and make it their own.’ We already heard the beautiful version of ‘10.000 Luchtballonnen’ by Metejoor and Jaap, but we’ll find out more about the major stumbling block in this issue tomorrow. Hanne, Marthe and Julia close with their version of ‘Levitating’ by Dua Lipa. That under the new title ‘Children’s heart’.

Hannah as a child

At ‘Love for Music’ we not only get great covers, we also learn more about the artists themselves. For example, we see a childhood photo of Hanne. ‘I was such an ugly child’, she laughs, but we don’t think so. She beams super cute with a microphone in hand and behind a piano. She comes from a musical nest. My brother and dad were in a band. I was the only one in the family who didn’t do anything with music. At the age of 21 I registered for “K3 seeks K3” and now I am actually the one who earns her living making music in a family of guitars and drums’, the K3 laughs.

‘Love for Music’ can be seen on VTM and VTM GO from tomorrow, Tuesday 4 April.
