Reaching the next round will be particularly lucrative for four clubs. This year’s semi-finalists DFB cup season receive a bonus of around 3.35 million euros – a record amount!
Millions of rain in the DFB Cup!
According to its own statements, the German Football Association (DFB) will pay a record amount from the marketing proceeds this season. The entry fee was already 209,247 euros for all 64 participants.
Holger Blask, spokesman for the DFB management board: “We have signed corresponding contracts for this season with our national and international TV partners as well as our six cup partners and we are grateful for the trust they place in us,”
In the final, the winner receives 4.32 million euros, the loser 2.88 million euros. Blask continues: “This is clear proof of the attractiveness and fascination of the DFB Cup.”

Good news for all fans: You can see three of the four quarter-final games live on free TV.
On Tuesday, Frankfurt will welcome Union Berlin (6 p.m. / ZDF). At 8 p.m. there is the second Tuchel appearance as Bayern coach against SC Freiburg (8.45 p.m. / ARD).
As the only second division team in the quarter-finals, 1. FC Nürnberg is likely to benefit most from the record bonus. The club welcomes VfB Stuttgart on Wednesday (6 p.m./ Sky (Advertisement)). The duel between RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund (8.45 p.m. / ZDF) concludes on Wednesday.
