President UEFA, Alexander Ceferincommenting on the alleged referee bribery scandal Barcelona. According to him, this case is very serious.
Barcelona was accused of bribing the former vice president of the Spanish Referees Committee (CTA), Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira. The cules paid Negreira 8.4 million euros over the span of 2001-2018.

“I can’t comment directly on this for two reasons. First, because we have an independent disciplinary committee. Second, because I haven’t discussed this matter in detail,” Ceferin told Team.
“However, I can say something, the situation is very serious. In my opinion, this is one of the most serious in football I have ever seen,” he continued.
“In LaLiga, the time frame for sanctioning Barcelona for the ‘Negreira Case’ has expired, but the matter has been forwarded to the Spanish prosecutor’s office. In the case of UEFA, there is no case expiration,” Alexander Ceferin disclose.
