FC Barcelona was Ronaldinho’s second stop in European football. There he experienced the first professional years of the young Lionel Messi up close. For him, he wishes to end his career with the Blaugrana.
Ronaldinho has been quizzed about the future of his former team-mate Lionel Messi, who currently doesn’t seem set to renew his contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
Ronaldinho has a better suggestion anyway. “I’m a friend of Messi. I’m very happy for him, I’m happy when friends make their dreams come true and that makes me happy,” he says, according to Marca, first of all about his deep connection to La Pulga.
Ronaldinho understands that Messi’s best choice would be to end his career at his heart’s club. “After all the history he’s had with Barcelona, I really wish he could finish his career there,” said Ronaldinho.

Between 2005 and 2008, Ronaldinho and Messi in Barça jerseys brought the opposing defenses to despair. And that despite the fact that Messi’s professional career was still in its infancy at the time.
Barça are currently doing all they can to bring Messi back to the Camp Nou for the coming season. In the next few days there should be another meeting between father and advisor Jorge Messi and club president Joan Laporta.
