After the US Barroise football changing rooms in La Barre-en-Ouche (Eure), the future Beaumesnil multisport ground is the other major project concerning sport and the youth of Mesnil-en-Ouche.
While the works are in progress at La Barre-en-Ouche, those of the city-stadium have not started yet.
The City is still looking for the construction company. ” As soon as we have it, the construction will be fast », Estimates Françoise Preyre, deputy mayor of Beaumesnil. The project is expected before the end of 2023. What will it look like? Some answers with Françoise Preyre.
Create a place to socialize
” In a small village, it’s a way to socializeto create social ties while practicing a healthy activity”, explains the deputy mayor of Beaumesnil.
After several months of reflection, the future city-stadium will be created on land bought by the City (about 18,000 euros), between the esplanade and the town hall of Mesnil-en-Ouche. In total, it is a plot of 750 square meters strategically chosen.
For the City, the city-stadium had to be located in a central location, “in the town center so that the surrounding municipalities could benefit from it. This can create synergy between the delegated municipalities,” says Françoise Preyre. As she recalls, “it is land for the inhabitants of Mesnil-en-Ouche”.
The project also thinks of the students of the School of Little Researchers in Beaumesnil. “The point is that they can benefit from it,” she says. The path connecting the two places, via rue des Buettes, should be redone.
Built with young people
Affected by the project, the City made a point of asking the opinion of the main interested parties. The schoolchildren of Beaumesnil, and the young people of the teenage center of La Barre-en-Ouche were asked. What emerged: a city-stadium, fields for playing ball sports (football, handball, basketball, etc.) and sports equipment.
Château de Beaumesnil obliges, it requires the authorization of the architects of the Buildings of France for this project. It will be built with eco-responsible material, in wood and “it will be hidden by hedges and trees”, specifies Françoise Preyre.
The little ones are not forgotten. There are plans to add games for children and picnic tables for parents. “This will be the second step,” she says.
The multi-sports ground is only the first stage of a vast redevelopment project for the town center of Beaumesnil. As part of the national Small Towns of Tomorrow system, Mesnil-en-Ouche will decide on the two development projects for these two historic town centers in June.
90 000 euros
This is the estimated price for the future city-stadium project. The final price will depend on the materials used, which has not yet been acted upon. In the City budget, this project was entered at this price but it can drop to 70,000 euros, estimates the deputy mayor. Mesnil-en-Ouche expects subsidies of up to 70% thanks to the National Sports Agency, the equipment grant for rural areas (DETR) and the Department. The rest to be paid for by around 30,000 euros for the new commune.
