Pope Francis congratulated all those present and believers around the world at the celebration of Palm Sunday and asked everyone to unite in prayers for peace, remembering Ukraine.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Vatican News.
“I thank you for your participation and also for your prayers, which have intensified these days. Thank you!” said the Pope before reading the “Angel of the Lord” prayer.
Pope Francis blessed the Caravan of Peace, which recently left Italy for Ukraine to provide humanitarian aid.
He noted that this “is a sign of the closeness of the people of Italy to the affected people of Ukraine.”
“Let us join this gesture with our prayer, which will be more intense during Holy Week,” said the Pope.
As reported, at the end of March, Pope Francis was hospitalized in a Roman hospital due to a respiratory infection: the day before, he complained of breathing difficulties, but there is no mention of COVID-19.
