The Turkish Ministry of Social Services and the Family handed over a baby girl to her mother 54 days after the devastating earthquake that struck the country last February, after her identity was confirmed after a DNA test.
And the Ministry of Family and Social Services announced that Minister Derya Yang contributed to the mother’s meeting with her daughter “3.5 months” in the state of Adana.
According to Turkish websites, including “TurkPress”, the infant lost her father and two brothers as a result of the earthquake that occurred on February 6, while her mother was injured and was undergoing treatment in Adana Medical City.
The Turkish authorities had difficulty finding the child’s mother, as they did not have any data after removing her from under the rubble, while the child was transferred to a hospital in Adana for treatment, and then to a shelter in the capital, Ankara.
The ministry was able to identify the mother of the child after comparing the DNA data, which revealed the relationship between the two.
