Newcastle United achieve important results in the hunt for tickets to Liga Champions. The Magpies have just conquered Manchester United 2-0.
In the match at St James’ Park, Sunday (2/4/2023) evening WIB, Newcastle scored their goals in the second half through Joe Willock and Callum Wilson.
These three points have made Newcastle rise to third place in the Premier League standings with 50 points from 27 matches, ahead on goal difference over MU in fourth place.
MU’s position is prone to being shifted by Tottenham Hotspur if they can beat Everton on Tuesday morning WIB later.

The match was tight since the early minutes. The first opportunity only arrived in the 16th minute when Newcastle almost twice found David de Gea’s goal.
First from Alexander Isak’s header which was pushed over by De Gea, then the ball gag was struck by Joe Willock but was thwarted by the Spanish goalkeeper.
MU had difficulty developing the game and was under pressure from Newcastle. The hosts almost scored in the 38th minute when Allan Saint-Maximin easily beat several MU players.
A drag bait was sent which was greeted by Sean Longstaff’s shot and beat De Gea, although it ended up going wide.
Two minutes later Saint-Maximing again made MU’s back line at a loss through Saint-Maximin’s acceleration. This time the bait was met by Joe Willock’s shot which was still wide.
The 0-0 score lasted until halftime.
In the second half, the tempo of the match decreased in the first 15 minutes. However, the stadium finally roared after Willock scored to give Newcastle a 1-0 lead in the 65th minute.
After twice missing chances in the first half, this time Willock coolly finished off Saint-Maximin’s header from close range.
Newcastle almost doubled their lead had Fabian Schar’s header from a corner had not hit the post in the 76th minute.
Victor Lindelof, who had just entered as a substitute, almost scored a goal with a header in the 84th minute but it still flew.
Wilson! Substitute Callum Wilson doubled Newcastle’s lead in the 88th minute. He headed Trippier’s free kick into the far post of De Gea’s goal.
The 2-0 score closed the Newcastle vs MU duel.
