“Una noche de tablado” is a musical spectacle, with absurd humour, which above all has a highly festive character.
The central character is the Tablado, taken as the place where people gathered to see those popular artists who for a month are part of one of the most important cultural expressions in Uruguay, the Carnival.
“Una noche de tablado”, far from being a nostalgic exercise, is intended to be a tribute to a cultural phenomenon and a popular expression that spans several generations. The characters are typical of any neighborhood, which we can still find if we know how to look and listen.
The comedian who doesn’t know he’s a comedian, the comedian who doesn’t know he’s a comedian. The type that has the classic output, suddenness, irony and acidity on the surface. That he doesn’t know all of them but that he lived a long time and, therefore, he speaks from a place that no longer judges, he only limits himself to laughing at them, period.
