The Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, visited a child victim of sexual violence in Blitar District, East Java Province, to show support for her recovery and provide her with basic need assistance. The ministry provided the victim with basic need assistance, such as staple food packages, cleaning supplies, additional nutrition, and school supplies, as well as entrepreneurship assistance in the form of a culinary booth for her older brother. In addition, social workers and psychologists were sent to help the victim and the ministry facilitated psychiatric and obstetrician services, covering the victim’s delivery costs. The perpetrator, the victim’s father, raped his kid several times, resulting in a pregnancy. The mother was working as an Indonesian Migrant Worker (PMI) in a foreign country when the crime was committed. The Blitar District Head welcomed the cooperation of the Ministry of Social Affairs in empowering women in the region and reducing the number of migrant workers.
