In a shocking case that has sent shockwaves across the world, a 14-year-old girl has been accused of hiring a hitman to murder her own mother. The body of the victim was later found dumped in a skip, leaving investigators and the community in disbelief. The alleged plot has raised serious questions about the mental well-being of the teen and the potential impact of social media and online culture on youngsters. This article explores the details of the case and its wider implications for society.
A 14-year-old schoolgirl has been arrested for allegedly hiring hitmen to murder her mother after being banned from seeing her boyfriend. Anastasia Milosskaya, a single mother, was found brutally murdered near Moscow. Her body was wrapped in plastic and dumped in a skip after being beaten and strangled to death. The suspects accused of murder or conspiracy to murder are all teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17. The daughter and her male friend are accused of allowing the “accomplices” into the flat and being present at the time of the killing. Russian police allege that the pair paid two other teenagers £3,650 to kill Anastasia.
The Investigative Committee claim that the girl and her male friend intended to live on her mother’s savings of more than £30,000. A friend of the daughter said that she had spoken about hating her mother many times, even though her mother was a good person who loved her. The grandmother of the girl said her granddaughter had come under the influence of the boy, who was from a “difficult family”. Other sources stated that the victim had always sought to improve her daughter’s life and had been caring towards her.
Anastasia was working as an estate agent before the murder occurred. Anastasia had tried to order the boy to leave after being a bad influence on her daughter. The daughter is accused of ordering the contract killing, along with a boy presumed to be her boyfriend, age 15, who had been living at her family’s flat. The girl’s mother had reportedly banned her daughter from seeing her boyfriend, which led the girl to plot the murder along with her male friend.
An eyewitness who saw Anastasia’s body said: “She was beaten and strangled, as her whole face was red and swollen”. Two days after Anastasia’s murder, her body was found wrapped in plastic and a mattress and dumped in the garbage pile in the city of Balashikha in the Moscow region. A local janitor found the body in the rubbish skip and alerted police.
All accused teenagers have been placed in police custody for a month pending investigations. They face a maximum sentence of 10 years initially served in a youth correctional colony. It is unknown if the teenagers will be tried as minors or adults.
This case highlights the dangers of young children and minors being exposed to violence and criminal activities. The girl’s decision to plot her mother’s murder out of frustration of being banned from seeing her boyfriend is extremely concerning. The incident also brings into the spotlight the access to hitmen and their ease of hiring in certain parts of Russia. Educational programs and intervention around violent behavior need to be established to prevent more such incidents from happening in the future. Anastasia’s death is a tragic loss, and her daughter and the other accused teenagers need to face the consequences for their actions.
