Russian law enforcement officers were spying on The Wall Street Journal journalist Evan Gershkovich before he was detained.
According to the publication, Gershkovich was observed by several employees of the special services of the Russian Federation. They also recorded his movements on camera and put pressure on the sources with whom the journalist worked.
The WSJ clarifies that surveillance of Gershkovich was recorded in Pskov. The journalist was unable to identify the people who were watching him. At the same time, the detained US citizen admitted that his phone could be tapped.
