Germany declares total number of Leopards for Ukraine: Six tank battalions.

At the same time, he noted that it would hardly be possible to send Ukrainians more of just such weapons, since “the resources of the allies are limited” and added that Germany “cannot give everything away, because there are reserves that cannot be spent.”

“I don’t see a scenario in which it would be possible to send additional Leopards to Ukraine beyond what was announced,” Pistorius said.

At the same time, the minister said that Poland, together with its allies, would send two battalions of Leopard 2 to Ukraine, where there would be 60 tanks.

In addition, by the end of the year, 100 Leopard 1 tanks, assembled in four battalions, will be added to them. The head of the German Defense Ministry added that the United States, along with Britain, also supply tanks.

“Unfortunately, NATO countries do not have tanks just waiting to be sent. Despite this, I believe that in the medium term it will be possible to cover the needs of Ukraine,” Pistorius summed up.

As reported, Germany handed over the promised 18 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine as part of a coalition of partners.

It should be noted that Poland became the first of the partner countries to transfer modern Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. Also, the transfer of these vehicles has already been from Portugal.
