In New York, 2 Conferences and Various Activities Planned for Journalists

Osvaldo Santana and Bolívar Balcácer

NEW YORK.- The journalists Osvaldo Santana and Bolívar Balcácer will give important conferences in this city next Tuesday on the occasion of Journalism Week.

Santana, winner of the 2017 national journalism award, will speak on “The Role of Journalists Against Individual and Collective Interests” while Balcácer will develop the topic “Today’s Journalism, versus Artificial Intelligence”.

Both conferences will take place this Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 6 p.m. at the Dominican Culture Office, located at 2406-2410 Amsterdam avenue, New York 10033.

They are organized by the New York board of the Dominican College of Journalists, made up of Jenny Gómez, Rita López, Vicente (Tony) Balbuena, Benjamín Valverde, Hanty Almanzar, Elpidio Tolentino and Levis Germán.

Gómez, general secretary 2021-2023, extended an invitation to all journalists, broadcasters, social communicators and the Dominican community to participate in the activities contemplated by the CDP in the journalist’s month, which will be free.

They also include a mass for the deceased journalists and those with health problems to be held next Monday, April 3 at 7 pm at La Encarnación church, at 1290 ST. Nicholas avenue, in Manhattan, New York.
