Considering that Windows testing has even split into four different channels, the situation is more confusing than before. In the last few days, Microsoft has released new builds to three core channels, and the news largely matches, but it’s not 100% match.
Let’s take a look at what’s going on in the Beta channel, which is the most important for us. In it, another package of news for Windows 11 version 22H2, which is known internally as Moment 3, is starting to take shape. When Microsoft tested Moment 2, which was released recently, it was using build number 22623.
Now he uses the number 22624. Again, the number was artificially increased by a digit to keep at least some order in the testing. In settings added USB4 section. Not that you need to set anything up, but Redmond thinks it’s useful to see what features are available to your computer. The fourth generation of USB exclusively uses the Type-C connector and offers a wide range of uses including charging, docking or connecting screens.

You can remember the next news from higher channels. Fast copying of codes sent to mobile for two-factor authentication was already available in the Dev channel, but is now more accessible. They are mediated by the Phone Connection application. But you can also copy the codes sent by e-mail if your client shows a warning. Windows 11 should detect the codes in all native notifications, but it’s possible that they get confused or don’t recognize the code.
People have been asking for a clock on the main panel the seconds also showed, so you can now find this option in Settings. Microsoft warns that this feature leads to increased computer consumption. And that it may not work at all in this build.

Months tested VPN indicator on the network icon on the taskbar is colored according to the color of the selected theme color. Now you can also find it in the Beta channel. And one last thing – the search box on the taskbar will stay light if you set a light theme for apps but a dark theme for the system.
The fixes described above can be found in Windows 11 Insider Preview in the Beta channel starting with build 22624.1470.
