Dr. Murad Zarif, Director General of Al-Amriya Medical District, said west of AlexandriaA major media symposium was held at the Church of the Virgin Mary and Abu Seifin in the village of Zawiyat Abdul Qadir in Al-Amriyah.
The symposium discussed reproductive health, the danger of early marriage, the criminalization of circumcision, and the importance of women in society. Dr. Shereen Al-Qassas, Director of the Media and Population Education Department at the Directorate of Health Affairs in Alexandria, gave a lecture.
Zarif added that after the symposium, the presidential initiative for women’s health and early detection of breast cancer, and the initiative for early detection of chronic diseases and kidney disease, were activated for all attendees of the symposium and a number of the region’s residents.

During the meeting, the application and activation of the family counseling service of the Golden Thousand Initiative was discussed, which includes premarital counseling, care for the expectant mother, child care during the golden thousand days, the right of the child to absolute breastfeeding and optimal care for him, and spacing between pregnancies. Special counseling rooms in the health facilities included in the initiative.
