Issue 2/2021 until April 4th. in trade
If there were a Concorde among us drummers, it would be called Sebastian Lanser. When it comes to speed, perfection and technique, the man from Salzburg keeps breaking new sound barriers when it comes to drumming, and not at drum shows, but with his new band Obsidious. In our current cover story, he explains how his swivel technique works. You can try it out for yourself in a playalong song by his band Obsidious. Issue 2/2023 with Sebastian’s interview and the playalong including notes can be published until April 4th. be ordered here (The booklet is of course also available from us afterwards Shop).
Live beim Prognosis-Festival
If you want to experience Sebastian live with Obsidious, you have the next opportunity on April 15th. Then he performs with the band at the Prognosis festival in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, not far from the German border. Tickets are available at https://www.prognosis-festival.nl/tickets.
Grooven à la Sebastian Lanser: Playalong as well as Transcription
Sebastian was kind enough to provide us and you with the song »Devotion« from Obsidious’ debut album »Iconic« as a playalong – about which he says: »Of course, like some others on our album, the song requires a certain skill level. But I don’t just find it very interesting from a technical point of view, but also from the perspective of the instrumentation, i.e. how I orchestrate it.« Of course you can find the song in the Spotify playlist for issue 3/2023.
A sheet music transcription by Sebastian as well as the playaylong and a click track can be found in the current issue. Our thanks go to Sebastian Lanser, Obsidious and the label Season of Mist.
