The Hungarian Red Cross announced its first aid competition for the 51st time, for which both children and adult teams were expected to apply. The students’ regional competition in Székesfehérvár was held on the last day of March at the headquarters of the Fejér County Organization of the Hungarian Red Cross, where 11 teams presented their skills.
Before the competition, the county director of the institution, Hedvig Szücsné Szigeti, welcomed the participants, who were expected to have practical, theoretical and playful tasks during the afternoon. – The teams could start in the primary and secondary school categories, and the first-placed among them will go to the county finals, from where they have the opportunity to reach the national finals – said Hedvig Szücsné Szigeti. The county director emphasized that it was thanks to the schools and teachers of each participating team that the competitors came prepared for the competition.
The participants had to solve six professional tasks, four of which were about patient care. In the framework of a toto, the students gave an account of their theoretical knowledge and completed two playful tasks.
Among the elementary school teams, the Széna Téri Primary School team named Széna Téri Segítők was the best, while among the high school students, the GÉZengúzok team made up of students from Pál Bugát Vocational Secondary School proved to be the best, so they can compete in the county round.
