The various European stock indices recorded collective gains at the close, as follows:
- The European Stoxx 600 index rose by 0.8% by the end of trading.
- The German index, the DAX, recorded gains of about 0.8% as well.
- The British FTSE 100 index is the least rising among European stocks, by only 0.2% at the close.
- Italy’s MIB index is up 0.5%.
- The Spanish index IBEX achieved a profit of 0.5% as well, at the close of trading.
- The French CAC index rose by 0.9% and was the highest gainer among European stocks at the close.
In this context, European stocks have achieved strong gains this week, according to the following:
- The Stoxx 600 Index is achieving gains of 4.2%.
- The German index is up 4.6%.
- The British index is the least rising among European stocks this week, by only 3.2%.
- The French index records a weekly gain of 4.6%.
- The Italian MIB index was among the top gainers this week, increasing by 4.9%.
- The Spanish IBEX index is the most bullish among European stocks, with weekly profits estimated at 5.2%.
Also on a quarterly basis, European stocks made very strong gains, as follows:
- The Stoxx 600 Index rose by 7.9%.
- The German index, the DAX, rose 12.4%.
- The British FTSE 100 index achieved a profit of only 2.6%, which is the lowest among European stocks during the first quarter of this year.
- The French index, the CAC, records gains of 13.3%.
- The Spanish IBEX index gained 9.5% over the same period.
- The Italian MIB index is the most profitable among European shares, increasing by 14.5% in the first quarter of this year.
