A senior French source confirmed to An-Nahar that the head of the Marada Movement, Suleiman Franjieh, will visit the French capital on Friday to meet with the French advisory team to President Emmanuel Macron.
And Paris is keen for Franjieh to provide guarantees that if he is elected president, he should not impede the work of the reformist government, which, if headed by Nawaf Salam or others, must implement reforms to get the country out of its ordeal, otherwise the obstructive third will be used.
However, the same sources remain very cautious about his position and his guarantees – the French presidential team has extensive experience with Lebanese promises – but despite this, they are looking for a quick way out of the vacuum in Lebanon before a complete deterioration, because the situation in Lebanon is very dangerous and President Emmanuel Macron is determined to save it before a complete collapse.
