FIFA prolongs ban on Fabio Paratici of Tottenham

“FIFA confirms that, following a request from the Italian federation (FIGC), the Chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided to extend the sanctions imposed by the FIGC on certain world leaders“Said the international federation in a press release. On January 20, Juventus were handed 15 penalty points and their ex-boss Andrea Agnelli, who has since been replaced as club president, was suspended for two years along with other leaders. The Turin club was accused of having notably overvalued the selling prices of certain players, mainly in the context of cross-selling with other clubs, to record artificially inflated capital gains in its accounts.

Juve is also the subject of a judicial investigation into possible accounting fraud to artificially limit its losses in its balance sheets presented to investors, between 2018 and 2021. This inflated transfer scandal initially concerned several Italian clubs, all acquitted in the spring of 2022 The Federation Court of Appeal had however accepted the request of the federal prosecutor to reopen the file, only for the Turin club.
