Dries Roelvink will perform at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on November 6. The singer will announce this on Thursday The Telegraph. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m.
In 1994, Roelvink already sold out the Concertgebouw. “Recently we took the plunge, chose an evening and booked the hall,” says the Amsterdam singer.
The 64-year-old singer acknowledges that it is exciting. “Of course, you invest a lot of time and money in it, but I think it will work. A few years ago, Paradiso was also sold out in no time. And this hall, this Concertgebouw, that is such a special atmosphere. I’m impressed just looking at it.”
A performance in Royal Theater Carré is still on Roelvink’s wish list. He gave a concert there in 1995. “But a few years ago I suddenly didn’t get there through the balloting committee,” says the singer. “I wanted to give a concert there again, but there was no room.”
“Next year I would like to celebrate my 65th birthday there,” says Roelvink. “But first November 6, the Concertgebouw. I can already look forward to the walk there that evening.”
