“Tiring: First Duo Decides to Drop Out in the Race Across The World”

Last week, Bastiaan Ragas and his son Sem were the last to arrive. Something you should not do in this program, because there is a chance that you will have to go home. Actually, they should leave the program, but they can stay for one more episode. A little later it becomes clear why.

The duos meet in a sky lounge where they enjoy a cocktail. Finally, Dominic Seldis and his daughter Katy arrive. They have sad news. They find the program too heavy. “Having to keep going is exhausting,” says Dominic after their final arrival at the checkpoint.

Dominic tells the group, “We’ve decided to go home.” The group is perplexed. “We have a little spending problem: we don’t have enough left for the whole race. And we underestimated how much we would miss at home. I have a baby at home and we think we should go home.” The rest of the candidates regret that they are going.

The others continue steadily. Fanatic as always, two teams are on the same page: team Hugo Kennis and Eva Cleven and team Olga Commandeur and her husband Frank. Until the last moment it remains exciting who arrives first. The previous two episodes are Hugo and Eva the Commendeurtjes just too fast, but not this time. Olga and Frank arrive at the checkpoint a little early and seal their win with a kiss. “Jesus man, first!” says Olga to her husband. “I really didn’t expect it anymore.”

Hugo and Eva are not gloomy about their second place. They give it to the Commanders. “I’m so happy for them,” says Hugo, throwing himself theatrically to the ground. “I can not anymore.” Howard Komproe and his partner Dre arrive third and Team Ragas arrives (again) last. They don’t have to go home this time either.

Race Across The World can be seen every Wednesday at 8.30 p.m. on RTL 4.
