This is how the open letter from the non-profit organization Future of Life Institute that addresses the dangers of artificial intelligence (AI). “Advanced AI could represent a profound change in the history of life on Earth, and should be managed with appropriate care and resources,” the letter continues.
“Unfortunately, that’s not happening, even though AI labs have been embroiled over the past few months in an out-of-control race to develop increasingly powerful digital brains that no one — not even their creators — can understand, predict, or reliably control. “
