Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has declined to comment on the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from the Lok Sabha, claiming he does not speak on matters involving court orders. However, Kumar did emphasise the need for a united opposition and took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that “the corrupt were joining hands”. Although much discussion has arisen surrounding Kumar’s silence over Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification, Kumar stated that the JD(U), his party, has already commented on the issue. Leaders within the JD(U), including national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh, have unequivocally condemned the Congress leader’s disqualification, blaming it on the vendetta politics of the BJP government.
