An investigation is underway following a traffic accident in County Wexford involving an articulated lorry and a car, which occurred on the N11 between Wexford town and Enniscorthy, near Oylegate village. The lorry overturned and blocked the road. The driver of the car, believed to be a woman in her mid-80s, and the driver of the lorry were taken to hospital by ambulance. The gardaí have begun an investigation and the road is expected to be blocked off for at least 4-5 hours. The garda forensic collisions investigation unit will examine the scene to establish the cause of the accident. Witnesses who may have information about the accident have been urged to contact the gardaí. Superintendent Denis Whelan advised motorists to avoid the Oylegate area if possible and to follow detour signs. Traffic diversions are in place.
