Do these pictures cost ManCity superstar Erling Haaland (22) a driver’s license?
The Norwegian was caught using his mobile phone at the wheel in his 340,000 euro luxury car! And that could cost him dearly…
Photos and a video – published by the British “The Sun” – show the goalscorer as he beat RB Leipzig the day after the 7-0 win in the Champions League (to which Haaland alone contributed five goals) drives his Rolls Royce near the Etihad Stadium – and uses his smartphone.
Ein No-Go!
A Manchester Police spokesman told The Mirror: “I can confirm that the police are aware of the image and are investigating it.”
What are the consequences for Haaland?
In the UK, using a mobile phone while driving is punishable by six penalty points and just over €200.
There is also the possibility that the driver will be taken to court and fined up to 1000 euros.
However, the driver’s license can only be revoked if the test was only taken in the past two years.
A spokesman for The Automobile Association said: “This is a clear red for which there is no excuse. It is dangerous to hold your cell phone in your hand while driving. For someone so effective at scoring goals, it’s definitely an own goal.”
It remains to be hoped for the ex-BVB attacker that it was the last own goal for the time being…
