Womad counts days to be held in Cáceres. Meanwhile, the festival is unveiling its poster. This Tuesday he has revealed another five names for his cast this year, the Extremadura representation. Thus, a small-scale representation of the event itself will be put on stage from the local scene. The selected bands mix rap, trap, folk and African rhythms.
They are added to those that have already been confirmed, among them, Susan Readwinner of three Latin Grammys, and the Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness. As every year, among the bands from Extremadura, one will be chosen to take the stage of the edition of Womad in Charlton Park.
Sanke: African rhythms among Extremaduran roots
The name of the band means roots in milk, one of the languages of Guinea Conakry. The group is led by the musician Aboubacar Sylla and is completed with musicians from the region. Its rhythms are known for touring the stages of the towns.
Cecilia Zango: flamenco, trap and generation Z
The most viral from Cacereña moves between flamenco, trap, funk and Arab rhythms. Some people nickname her as the local Rosalía. Classically trained at a conservatory in the city, she continued to study in Madrid. She has millennial and generation Z influences and her video clips receive thousands of views on platforms.

Jorge Navarro: singer-songwriter and opening act for Kiko Veneno
He is from Madrid but has been living in Badajoz for years. The singer-songwriter has been the opening act for Kiko Veneno or Anni B. Sweet. His inspiration comes from artists like Quique González, Morgan or Sidecars. His creations have their strength in the lyrics and Womad will join his band, La revolución sonríe.
Tandemonios: hip hop and social criticism
Last year they were Shoul & Libra Loggia and this year Tandemonios (Dámaso Monje and Pablo Rojo) take over. Rap from Cáceres is once again part of the festival’s poster. The band was born in 2017 and has the endorsement of having won the Cáceres urban culture festival.
