The state government is consistently committed to protecting children and young people from sexualized violence. With the publication of the second report on the implementation and updating of the concept of action and measures to prevent sexualized violence against children and young people, the state government provides an overview of its activities over the past twelve months and commits itself to the existing protection with 62 specifically described measures and to further strengthen the handling of sexualised violence.

The report includes, among other things, the concept of action and measures adopted at the end of 2020 in the area of ​​”Sexualized violence against children and young people – prevention, intervention, help” and bundles the approaches and projects of the state government into an effective catalog of measures in the fight against sexualized violence against children and young people . The Ministry for Family Affairs has strengthened the cooperation of all actors involved in child protection, among other things, by promoting interdisciplinary further training for all persons and professions who are confronted with cases of child protection in their work and by further expanding the network structure. In addition, the interdepartmental Internet portal of the state government “Together for child protection” (www.kinderschutz.nrw) developed. The web portal aims to improve the quality of child protection and strengthen the skills of people and professions who work with children and young people. In addition, the state government, as the most important instrument for state-wide, professional quality development in the field of prevention of sexualised violence, not only supports the state agency “Prevention of Sexualised Violence” (PSG.nrw) in Cologne, but also a counseling center in each administrative district with 80,000 euros per year in order to provide as much nationwide support as possible To achieve supply of information, advice, training and concept offers in North Rhine-Westphalia.
