Once again China is proving to be a dangerous rival for Western manufacturers on the electric car market and in particular for crossovers and SUVs which are also the best-selling cars. Here is the last means
The future in the automotive sector is Chinese, at least that’s what it seems to say the constant coming and going of vehicles from a country with billions of inhabitants who often also land in Europe even if through European partners since Chinese brands are not so famous here.
The latest product by the way close to a brand with an excellent reputation it is about to arrive on the continent and it will cost a ridiculous amount in perfect Chinese style, putting other rivals in difficulty: the question is, is it worth taking it home or does the low price stink us too much?
One more arrival
In the last period, China has been very active in the construction of low-cost cars which are increasingly different from the terrifying plagiarisms that we saw it coming even in Europe with a certain impudence in recent years. The fact that the Chinese auto industry has finally found its own identity is reassuring but not for Western rivals who fear being outclassed.
Case come Tesla, Honda e General Motors they can no longer ignore the arrival of cars that often cost only a fraction of their vehicles offering more or less the same characteristics at a time when the customer, above all, is looking for savings. Let’s see the latest arrival that could worry the great western rivals and those who produced it.
Exceptional partnership
The reason why Chinese brands have grown exponentially in recent years is also the acquisition of important European brands such as the MG bought by SAIC o Volvo, now an integral part of the Geely Group which is precisely the brand we are talking about today. In fact, the Chinese giant has recently founded Geometry, a brand that came out of nowhere in 2019 that needs to establish itself on the market.
This brand will be destined to the construction of the most classic of vehicles: the SUV which is currently the best-selling type of car in the world if we consult the data of the last few years. The fact that there is the name of the Swedish house that still boasts an excellent reputation in terms of safety and reliability makes the brand’s new product interesting.
Killer price
The new vehicle presented by the brand is called Geometry EX3, a name that does not make it stand out much from its rivals currently on the market, whether Chinese or European or American. But if we told you that its price in Euros is around the modest sum of around 8,000, what would you answer, do we have your interest? The bargain price comes from converting Yuan to our currency.
Also interesting are the data on the autonomy of the vehicle, obviously completely ecological, capable of traveling 322 kilometers and of switch between batteries completely discharged to full charge in just over half an hour with any charging socket. The vehicle boasts a 95 horsepower electric motor, perhaps a little insufficient power for an SUV, but it is not a vehicle made for racing so much as for everyday life.
The vehicle also boasts a curious livery that it offers two-tone interior, for example blacks and blues, but there is a catch, unfortunately: for the moment Geely does not seem interested in spreading the vehicle outside national borders. Presumably, the brand will want to focus on importing proven cars while the small SUV is still being tested on the local market.
