The researchers estimate the change in direction occurs up to 90 degrees. Worse, the intended direction is towards the earth.
They say that galaxies that have giant black holes are 40 times larger than the Milky Way. The distance of the galaxy with galaxy where the earth is located is said to span nearly 4 million light years.
“We started studying this galaxy because it showed such strange properties,” said Dr Lorena Hernandez-Garcia of the Royal Astronomocial Society.
“Our hypothesis is that the relativistic jet from the supermassive black hole has changed its course, and to confirm that idea we had to make a lot of observations,” he added.
Currently the researchers have continued to make special observations. From initial observations it is estimated that the galaxy is very old.
Scientists aren’t sure what causes the change in direction and how it might affect our galaxy.
