5-year-old boy returns home following Utrecht bus accident that resulted in the loss of his 7-year-old sister | Interior.

The five-year-old boy who was hit by a bus on Vleutenseweg in Utrecht on Friday has left the hospital and is back home, the police reported on Monday. His seven-year-old sister died in the accident on Friday.

The children were on their way to school with their mother around 8 a.m. when they crossed the road in the Lombok district and were hit by a city bus. The mother was unharmed. The boy was injured and taken to hospital.

The police report that all bus passengers have been offered help from Victim Support. Other people who saw the accident can also receive victim support.

The police also say that the investigation into the accident has not yet been completed. Until then, the police do not want to give any information about the investigation. However, all those involved are asked to exercise restraint in making assumptions and speculations. “The outcome of the investigation will provide more clarity,” said the police.
