Tirana | A security guard was killed in a gun attack on a television channel in Albania. Shots were fired at the channel’s headquarters from an SUV that was running near the channel building.
A 60-year-old security guard was shot dead while sitting in a booth outside the building. The police stated that the investigation in the case is going on. The reason for the attack is not clear.
Albania was once notorious for illegal arms trafficking. During a general uprising in the 1990s, more than a million Kalashnikov rifles were stolen from military depots. However, mass shootings and violent attacks on journalists are rare in the country.
