Agreement for Foreign Minister and Iranian Counterpart to Meet During Ramadan: News 24 – Akhbaar24

Today (Monday), Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a phone call from Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.

During the call with his Iranian counterpart, the Foreign Minister agreed to hold a bilateral meeting between them during the current month of Ramadan, and they also discussed a number of common issues, in light of the tripartite agreement that was signed in the People’s Republic of China.

The Foreign Minister had contacted the Iranian Foreign Minister a few days ago, in which they agreed to hold a bilateral meeting between them to pave the way for the reopening of embassies and consulates between the two countries.

The agreement between the Kingdom, Iran and China, to restore diplomatic relations between Riyadh and Tehran and to reopen their embassies and representations, within two months, came after 4-day talks in Beijing between senior security officials from the two countries, headed by the Minister of State, member of the Cabinet and Assistant National Security Adviser. Al-Aiban, and the Secretary-General of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani.

Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan confirmed, in previous statements, that the Kingdom looks forward to the agreement to restore diplomatic relations with Iran, which will enhance the security and stability of the Arab Gulf region, and support the process of joint Islamic action.
